The Irish Regional Final is held every year before the Rose of Tralee International Festival to determine which Irish Roses represent their counties at the International Final in August. The event was established in 2005 in recognition of the fact that now every county in Ireland selects a Rose.

All Roses who take part have won Rose Selection heats in their own counties. Judges at the Irish Regional Final Selection choose 6 Roses to join Roses from Dublin, Cork, and Kerry at the International Festival.

This makes a total of 9 Roses from counties in Ireland represented at the International Final.

In 2010 the Irish Regional Final also incorporated the British Regional Final and the North American Regional Final.

The British Regional Final saw winning Roses from ten British Centres taking part in their own final to select three British Roses (Sunderland, Liverpool and Leicester) to join the London Rose at the International Festival.

The North American Regional Final saw the winning Roses from Arizona, Chicago, Edmonton and Ottawa come together, with one Rose (Arizona) selected from this group going forward to the International Festival.

The 2010 Irish Regional Final was held at the Portlaoise Heritage Hotel from Thursday 3rd to Sunday 6th June.

Friday 4 June 2010
Roes attend Cathaoirleach’s Reception in County Hall with local schools, followed by a visit to a local attraction.

Saturday 5 June 2010
Gala Parade through Portlaoise town beginning at Laois County Council buildings.
The Roses and Rosebuds will proceed through Main Street accompanied by marching bands and finish at County Hall.  The Parade Finale includes family entertainment and music at the Civic Plaza.
