We plan to create a new county experience, connecting local and rural business with the whole of county of Clare ~ making the country community aware of the urban businesses and the urban community aware of the country businesses. We are planing to create this awareness by having promo stands and demonstrations intertwining with crowd participation in the event room of this year's selection which will be open to the public from 7pm on the event night.

By around about midnight on April 12th, we will discover the identity of the Rose who will be selected to represent Clare in the Rose of Tralee Regional Finals in Portlaoise in June, and who will then have a chance to be chosen to go forward to the Rose of Tralee International Festival in August.

A great night’s entertainment will be had by all!

Continued success of the 2012 County Clare Rose of Tralee Event

The continued success of the Clare rose of Tralee was prevalent last Friday with a sell out event in the west county Ennis , there was just standing room only when the Clare rose of tralee centre proudly announced the 2012 Shannon ferries Clare rose of Tralee as Miss Orla McDonagh,

“Orla originally from Ennistymon is 26 and now living in Gort. This teacher of Music and Irish at Ennis Community College/ Gaelcholáiste an Chláir, has also received a Diploma in Elecution (Speech and Drama) from Griffith College Dublin. Orla runs her own music school teaching piano. She is also involved with Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éirinn in Ennistymon where she teaches Traditional Irish Music. Orla is well used to the stage having performed as a singer and is trained in Classical and Sean Nós. She has also performed in numerous musicals.”

Orla was selected from 18 elegant ladies from all over county Clare who had contented to be crowned the 2012 Clare rose of Tralee at this year’s hugely successful county Clare event which was held on Friday the 27^th of April, in the West county hotel, Ennis.

The coordinator of the Clare rose centre Mr. Ciarán O’Connell said: “The night was a great success with a full house of over 300 members of the public, vips and all the counties mayors in attendants to witness the talented young county Clare ladies on stage, but also to experience a taste of what the whole ROSE OF TRALEE had to offer, Mc. Paul Morarthy ( formally of clare fm) was a big hit with the crowd and we will definitely been seen at tralee’s big job sometime soon, an added feature this year were the local business which had promo stands in the in the packed event room, the proceeds from the selection raffle went to Carcalla hospice raising over €950 on the night.
