The Dublin Rose Centre is part of the Rose of Tralee International Festival and holds the annual Dublin Rose Selection to discover who will be the next Dublin Rose.

The current 2011 Dublin Rose is Clondalkin native, Siobhéal Nic Eochaidh.

To date, the Dublin Rose has won the Rose of Tralee five times and this year we are delighted to be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the 1962 Dublin Rose of Tralee, Ciara O'Sullivan Byrne.

Various events are held as part of the Dublin Rose Selection, including social outings with other Rose Centres, local get-togethers, judging interviews and a briefing which gives you a chance to meet your fellow entrants and find out a bit more about what's involved.

The 2012 Dublin Rose Selection will culminate in a Gala Rose Ball on April 27th and a three selection event on May 18th, 19th and 20th. The winning Rose then goes on to represent Dublin at the Rose of Tralee International Festival.

Taking part in the Dublin Rose Selection is a fantastic experience for those who wish to represent their county at the Rose of Tralee International Festival in Tralee. Its a great opportunity to make new friends for life and become part of the extended Rose Family. The Dublin Centre make it our priority that when you enter the Dublin Rose Selection, you will have a fantastic experience!

2011 DUBLIN ROSE SIOBHÉAL NIC EOCHAIDH AND DUBLIN ESCORT DARRAGH MCGRATH TO TRAVEL TO CHERNOBYL WITH ADI ROCHE

ON Monday February 13, the 2011 Dublin Rose Siobhéal Nic Eochaidh and Dublin Escort Darragh McGrath along with 12 other Roses and Escorts will accompany Adi Roche on a trip to Belarus to volunteer in the Vesnova Childrens Mental Asylum.

The CCI- Chernobyl Children International brinfs aid and medical assistance to hundreds of children in Belarus that were affected by the nuclear tragedy in in Chernobyl 26 years ago. Clondalkin native Siobhéal says of the trip "I'm really looking forward to this experience. If I'm being honest though I know this trip will be difficult but its a fantastic opportunity to give these kids the precious one to one human contact they are so deprived of."

The Rose of Tralee group will make the long journey out on Monday 13 February and will return five days later. While there, they will attend the opening of a new home built by Irish volunteers for older girls.
