Tamara Gervasoni ITALY
Tamara Gervasoni became Rose of Tralee in 2002 representing Italy, and has been the only Italy Rose to win the title
I have worked for the Irish founded International Humanitarian Organisation GOAL, volunteering in countries such as Kenya, Ethiopia, and South Sudan. I recently completed an MA programme in International Relations at Cardiff University, South Wales.
August 2009
I have since worked with various Not For Profit organisations, including GOAL, the Welsh Centre for International Affairs (WCIA), ECPAT NZ (End Child Prostitution, Child Pornography, Child Sex Tourism and Trafficking in Children for sexual purposes) in New Zealand, and the Cancer Council of Victoria in Australia.
Meeting the 27 Roses from my year and spending ten fantastic days together was one of the biggest highlights for me.
I am currently coming to the end of my round the world trip.
As I look back what strikes me most of all was the level of camaraderie enjoyed by myself and the other roses. The intimacy has resulted in lasting relationships with several roses, many of whom I keep in close contact with and have visited around the world.
