My name is Sorcha Rochford, I am 27 years old. I am honoured to represent Boston and New England in the Rose of Tralee festival. I currently live and work in Boston, I am London Irish at heart. My mother and father are both from Ballyduff, Co. Kerry. I grew up in London spending every Christmas and summer back in Kerry.
I work as a Political and Advocacy Director where I manage client relationships for a host of the most influential political, brand, and non-profit organizations around the globe. I am a political strategy leader, committed to building community in an effort to develop more effective leaders from all walks of life. I completed my undergraduate degree in Political Science and History at the University of Portsmouth in England before relocating to Boston, Massachusetts. At 22 I became the youngest member of my graduating class to receive a Master’s in Political Science from Suffolk University.
Irish dancing has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ll take advantage of any opportunity to bust out the heavy shoes, be it a polka set with my nan or a hornpipe with my sister.
