Rose of Tralee Kirsten Mate Maher sends out call for volunteers to join the 2019 Festival team
VOLUNTEERS are being sought to be part of the team that will help co-ordinate and marshal the multitude of events planned for 60th Year Celebrations of Rose of Tralee International Festival from Friday 23rd to Tuesday 27th August.
The Rose of Tralee, Kirsten Mate Maher, travelled to Tralee to personally thank the current volunteer panel for their role in staging such a massive event each year and to invite new volunteers to join a great team in 2019.
The deadline for receipt of Volunteer Application Forms is Friday 19th July 2019.
Prospective volunteers will gain first-hand experience of working on a large international Arts and Culture Festival that has such a rich and celebrated history.
The Operations Manager with the Rose of Tralee International Festival, Oliver Hurley, said: “Volunteers are certainly the life-blood of the Rose of Tralee International Festival and their involvement is vital to the successful running of this major event. The general public would not enjoy the parades, fireworks displays, live music and street entertainment without the presence of an efficient, skilled and dedicated team of volunteers.”
All volunteers will receive health and safety training, will be provided with a team uniform, access to meals while on their breaks and a chance to be part of one of the world’s most famous family festivals.
Part-time volunteers will be asked to work 4-hour shifts, while full-time volunteers who cover a minimum of eight 4-hour shifts will receive some extra goodies including free tickets to events in the Dome.
Most of all, volunteers are an integral part of something special with an opportunity to be hands-on and up-close with events such as the Rose Parades, Fireworks Displays, on-street entertainment, Festival Dome events and much more.
“Volunteers must be 18 years of age or over, have enthusiasm, commitment, and a willingness to help the Festival in its celebrations especially with this year’s exciting program free and affordable events,” said Oliver Hurley.
Kerry Volunteer Centre, who play a vital role in supporting Volunteers and organisations in Kerry, will also assist in the recruitment process
